Vee & Wedge Belts

When calculating the required length of belts please remember the following points:-
 
1, Metric belt length measurements refer to the pitch length which is the circumference of the mid section of the belt.
 
2, Imperial belt length measurements refer to the internal circumference of the belt. Outer circumference lengths are generally not used when sizing belts.
 
3, When working with Imperial belt size designations, A section belts will always have an outer circumference length of 2" longer than the specified inner circumference size and B section belts will always have an outer circumference length of 2.5" longer than the specified inner circumference size.
 
If you have an old belt to replace, see if you can find a length reference in either metric or imperial on the existing belt and use this to order a replacement belt of the correct section and length.
